What is Reiki?
A natural healing technique using energy.
Who can benefit from it?
Everyone.
Where does the healing energy come from?
It's universal (everywhere).
How does it work?
The energy is directed to the recipient through the hands of a Reiki practitioner. It benefits the physical,
emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of people by causing the body's natural energy to return to its 'normal flow'.
Who 'invented' Reiki?
It is thought to have originated in Tibet thousands of years ago, and the technique was 'rediscovered' by Mikao Usui in Japan around 1921.
How long does a Reiki full treatment session take?
Minimum 60 minutes; Maximum up to 90 minutes. The amount of time depends on the recipient's condition and needs.
How does a recipient feel during and after a Reiki treatment?
Usually very relaxed, and some people fall asleep. This is due to their energy being more balanced. Sleep is a natural part of any healing process.
Are there any negative side effects from a Reiki treatment?
No. It is a powerful but gentle treatment. Some people feel a temporary increase in their 'symptoms' and that is simply the body adjusting
to the positive healing energy.
How often should one have a Reiki treatment?
The body will only accept the healing energy that it needs. Therefore, every person is different and the frequency of treatment would depend on
how severe the energy imbalance is. Some people are just fine with one or two treatments to address the initial problem, followed by infrequent
maintenance treatments, which simply ensure a continuation of normal energy flows. A simpler way to describe this maintenance frequency would
be 'Whenever you feel like it'.
Can I learn Reiki?
Yes. Reiki can be learned by anyone of any age.
